Marije de Vries is a contemporary singer-songwriter from Leeuwarden. Her music is a unique mix of traditional Americana and modern folk. Her singing is often compared to that of Eva Cassidy, Stevie Nicks and Joan Baez.

Born in Alkmaar (NL), Marije started her musical journey at a young age. She graduated in music from the Minerva Academy of Pop Culture and soon immersed herself in the world of harmony singing and songwriting. She is inspired by artists as Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits and The Weather Station, and enjoyed early success as the frontwoman of the Dream-folk band WONDER. Having performed at European festivals including the Showcase festival Eurosonic Noorderslag, Into The Great Wide Open and Grasnapolsky. More recently she toured internationally with the Folk trio Pinfeather. And commissioned by Stichting Liet in Friesland, she wrote songs two years in a row that she also performed at the music festival of the same name.

She often performs with acoustic guitar, electric guitar or banjo, accompanied by a blues harp.
